Army life has been pretty hard to adjust to. So far I think being on Tekong Island, under the watchful eye of the commanders, I have learnt to appreciate the luxuries and little things that most of us take for granted in life. The most of all is being able to have time by yourself alone. Which is why to some extent i enjoy the MRT rides home from camp.
the joy of having home cooked food and eating your meals at a liesurely pace is one I definately miss having. The wide spread of choices available at the local wet market is also sorely missed especially by a pig like me.
I came into the mindset that I am going to be training to be fit and to be a soldier. This expectation that I have prior to entering BMT has mentally prepared me for the vigor of physical training. Being fit is also what motivates me to complete my training, getting me through the times when I have thoughts of giving up or falling out.
Many expectations have been laid out upon me and i think they might be hard to live up to. BMT so far focuses a lot on being fit thus cardio exercises are the main focus at this point of our training. Bulking up is almost impossible given the type of training we are put through.
